It's time to say goodbye....

After much thought and a heavy heart we have decided that after nearly 9 years we will be closing Woodberry on 30th November 2025.

We've made it through a pandemic, personal and staff bereavements, a new addition to our family and a cost of living crisis but now feel it's time to hang up our hats, at least for a little while. It was my dream to open a café many years ago and we had a baptism by fire when we first took over what was then Brambles (if you know, you know) but it's gone from strength to strength and we're proud of all that we've achieved with Woodberry. Along with lows have come many highs and we've enjoyed serving so many of you over the years.

Any small hospitality business owner will tell you that it is a tough gig. I always like to keep some perspective and often say to myself.... we're not saving lives and not to stress. But the truth is in recent times it's becoming increasingly hard to recruit, offer what is perceived to be value for money with ever rising costs and maintain a good work life balance, particularly with a young child. The 24/7 dedication and passion that is required and deserved just isn't in us at the moment.

This isn't a decision we've taken lightly as we know many of you enjoy coming to us every week, some even every day, and for that, we are so grateful. Plus, the decision has been even more difficult knowing that we'd have to say goodbye to our wonderful team, who many of you know are some of the friendliest in the business. We've always been complimented on how welcoming our team are and we're devastated we'll no longer be working with them. But we know they will go on to great things.

We're not sure what the future holds. We still have the building so we may pop up with some different kind of offering at a later date but for now we need time to think and enjoy time with our family.

We'll be serving our full menu until Nov 16th and then 2 weeks of a smaller menu plus drinks and cakes (staff permitting). We'd love to see you all to say goodbye... I can't promise that I won't cry.

If you have an in date gift voucher these can still be redeemed before 30th November. If you would like a refund instead, then please email us at hello@woodberryfarnsfield.com. We will be contacting any future bookings and also returning any deposits that have been paid.
